A vision is something that you see clearly, but do not yet possess. It is something that you value so highly, that you work hard in order to see it become a reality. Your vision defines what you spend your time on, what you spend your money on, how you organise yourself, what upsets you and what excites you! Our vision is not so much what we want to do, but something we feel called to be. Our vision is to be:
A WORSHIPPING CHURCH
Where God is
encountered in worship that is marked by awe
and reverence yet which is full of joy and
thanksgiving.
A PRAYING CHURCH
Where it is recognised
that prayer is both our highest privilege and our
most necessary responsibility.
A SPIRIT-FILLED CHURCH
Which seeks to be
growing in the fruit of the Spirit, operating in the
gifts of the Spirit and listening to the voice of the
Spirit.
A BIBLICAL CHURCH
Where the word of God
defines all that we do and where Bible teaching
is practical and relevant.
A CARING CHURCH
That understands itself as
being God’s family in which all barriers of age,
gender, race and social class are broken down
and where members are willing to lay down their
lives for one another.
AN EVANGELISING CHURCH
Which recognises
the commission of ALL of God’s people to be his
witnesses and which expects to grow in numbers as
more people commit their lives to Jesus Christ.
A MISSION-MINDED CHURCH
Which obeys the
great commission to go into ALL the world to
share God’s love and draw people to follow
Jesus Christ.
A RESOURCE CHURCH
Which recognises the
‘Universal Church’ and seeks to co-operate with other
Christian churches and groupings in order to see the
local community and the wider world reached with the
love of God.
